Paralegal (entry level) for North Carolina Office

Job Description:

Riley, Pope and Laney is seeking an entry level paralegal / legal assistant to fill a full-time, on-site position in our Matthews, North Carolina office. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow their legal office skills.  They will be a team player, detail oriented, organized, flexible, self-motivated, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn client websites and Case Management Software.

General Job Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Draft and file pleadings along with motions and other legal documents
  • Prepare and mail letters
  • Communicate with clients, courts, sheriff, etc.
  • Assist attorneys as needed
  • Update and communicate in client specific systems
  • Schedule hearings and other matters
  • Work independently to track and maintain timelines and workload
  • Miscellaneous duties as needed

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Paralegal Certificate or experience in a law firm preferred
  • Experience with default real estate (foreclosure) preferred
  • Detail-orientated
  • Willing to learn and grow
  • Ability to work with others

Title Paralegal

The title paralegal will be responsible for reviewing real estate title searches for residential and commercial properties.  The ideal candidate will be a team player, detail oriented, organized, flexible, self-motivated and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires previous title review experience, a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn Kofax Power PDF, client websites and Case Management Software.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing real estate title searches
  • Identifying title issues and how to resolve them
  • Pulling title information from county and state websites as needed
  • Researching defendants to be named in pleadings
  • Communicating with clients and abstractors
  • Entering title information in our case management system in preparation for legal filings
  • Updating client websites
  • Miscellaneous duties as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Paralegal certificate preferred or experience in a law firm
  • Real estate title review experience required
  • Experience with default real estate (foreclosure) is preferred

Riley, Pope and Laney is currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Mailroom Associate to join our team in our South Carolina office, located on Devine Street in Columbia, SC. As the first point of contact for incoming and outgoing mail, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization. Your dedication and efficiency will be greatly appreciated by both our internal staff and external partners.

 

General Job Duties include, but not limited to:

· Prepare and send outgoing mail, including letters, packages, and parcels, ensuring accurate addressing and

proper postage

· Maintain the mailroom inventory, including stamps, envelopes, and other supplies, and restock as needed

· Operate various mailroom equipment, such as postage meters, and printers, with care and precision

· Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned by the management team

· Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders

 

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 1-2 years of experience in a mailroom or administrative support role, preferred

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Proficiency in using standard office equipment and software

· Ability to lift and move packages up to 25 lbs
